Experts and representatives of the international community in Geneva and abroad contribute regularly to Geneva School of Diplomacy academic programme.
They bring their field experience and expertise to the class, thus adding great value to the content of GSD courses and creating an interactive dynamic in the class.
OPCW Director-General guest lecturer
On May 21st 2011 H.E Ambassador Ahmet Üzümcü Director-General of theOrganization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) visited GSD. His visit coincided with a special lecture he delivered facultyand students of the Geneva School of Diplomacy and InternationalRelations (GSD). Ambassador Üzümcü was accompanied by his colleague, Dr. Lodding. The theme of his lecture dealt with the achievements in the field of disarmament. Ambassador Ahmet Üzümcü was awarded a honoris causa (Honory Doctorate of International Relations) from GSD on June 26, 2010 Turkey received an honorary doctorate for lifetime achievements in arms control and disarmament.

AMBASSADOR OF URUGUAY GUEST LECTURER
H.E. Mrs. Dupuy Lasserre, Permanent Representative of the Misison of Uruguay to the UN in Geneva, was a guest speaker for the special lecture delivered and organized by Prof. Umberto Bandiera for the Bachelor's "International Relations and Latin America" course on May 31, 2010.
Addressing GSD students and faculty, the Ambassador discussed Uruguay's challenges in the new global market and the institutional changes experienced by MERCOSUR, the Regional Trade Agreement between Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay founded in 1991 by the Treaty of Asuncion.
